About the Exhibition:

In this exhibition, Johnston celebrates the wonderment of light and perception with a 270-degree projected animation experience and corresponding 3D-printed forms inspired by autumn journeys. In his new series, Johnston explores illuminated form and immersive video, building from his use of digital tools and recorded point of view. He collects both shapes and timestamps from video captured during focused explorations and uses that information as a source of formal constraint to digitally craft intriguing forms. Johnston uses data in novel ways to commemorate and share lived experience.

This exhibition is supported by the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons through the use of its specialized VISER space and the assistance of its expert staff. Johnston has completed this exhibition as part of his semester sabbatical recommended by President Repollet and awarded by the Kean University Board of Trustees.
